Since the early 1920's the Poolburn Hotel has been the meeting place of the Ida Valley.

Nestled in the remote highlands of Central Otago, between Dunedin and the Lakes Districts, the valley is an adventure mecca. No longer a pub, Poolburn Adventure Hub offers lodging and guided activities to adventurers afar. Such adventures include biking the rail trail, fishing at the Poolburn Dam, horse trekking, mountain biking and visits to nearby wineries and breweries. There are six beds and ample space for guests to relax and after a busy day adventure seeking.
