Karetu Downs is a one hour drive from Christchurch Airport and is situated in the picturesque Waipara Gorge, in the Hurunui district. The property is a Kiwi owned 2000ha sheep and cattle farm.

On farm activities include sheep shearing, feeding pets, collecting eggs, meeting the pet pigs, baby calves and Barney the donkey. 4WD farm tours are available and mountain bikes are provided. Karetu Downs also features a beautiful garden which is home to a range of bird life. The Karetu homestead overlooks a large sweeping lawn, encapsulated by majestic trees and plantings of camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas and roses. The farm offers a choice of B&B accommodation in the lovely Homestead or in a selfcontainded, fully furnished farm cottage.
