The farm is located between Kaikoura and Christchurch on the East Coast of the South Island, close to the mouth of the Hurunui River, an easy drive from Christchurch and a short distance from the town of Cheviot. Our farm offers a range of experiences: ATV farm tours across a spectacular landscape providing the opportunity to get up close and personal with the farm's animals; Glamping, with the campsite, offering an incredible 180 degrees view looking towards the Hurunui River, Inland Kaikoura mountains, and North Ppacific Ocean, and set on rolling farmland, surrounded by kanuka and pine plantations, with two lotus belle tents, a central camp kitchen, and a large hot tub; Jet boating on the Hurunui River in the care of Tim and Mike with over 45 years of combined jet boating experience, expertly navigating the shallow river braids and narrow canyons, offering an amazing variety of river bank scenery. Tawanui Farm's own beef and lamb, sold in carefully prepared boxes and farmed using regenerative farming practices, is also available for sale to our guests.
