Two Sth Otago farmers were great believers in the benefits to be got from farming ‘biologically’ and took pride in their using only natural fertisers, a mixture of seawater, liquid seaweed, fishmeal and vermicast from a worm farm, in which worms turned over 60 tonnes of food, cow and chicken waste. They started producing free range eggs and after friends noticed how tasty they were decided to set up a chicken farm and today roost 7,000 chickens.
