About:
Following her partner taking his own life, a young woman, a shepherd, horsewoman and student, decided to tackle the problem of rural isolation head-on. She has toured the country providing “rural health wellbeing education’, speaking in packed country halls to young farm workers about her ‘resilience’ training methods. In the process she has set up charity to help deal with that important rural health issue. At every event local shepherds are also encouraged to bring along their dogs to share a bark-up with her own dog Jess, inherited from her late partner.

About:
The Tiniroto Tavern, has an interesting history with many Taverns having been built on the current site since the 1890's. In the early days the Taverns were used as stop-overs for the coaches running between Waerenga-O-Kuri and Marumaru. The current Tavern, dating back to 1925, is from a bygone era where good food, a long yarn with a beer in hand, is still the order of the day. In the summer time the Tavern is a popular place for people to visit from all over the world. There are lots of community events at the Tavern including the Esater Game Hunt and a Mountain Oyster competition. The Tavern provides good wholesome meals for all occasions and is a place for friends and family alike to gather and enjoy good times together, singing and laughing to the sound of music.

About:
A couple with a vision for transforming their farm into a model of sustainable land management received a grant from Air New Zealand's Environmental Trust for $450,000 to plant 85,000 trees, including fruit and nut, natives and amenity trees. The trees are used to stabilise steep hillsides, beautify the the farm and link the land to remnants of virgin native forest. Staff from Air New Zealand's Green Team, visit the farm to help plant and weed the trees and stay overnight in an Eco Lodge built for that purpose. The trees form part of an integrated system, farming beef cattle, milking cows, pigs and chickens which the general public are allowed to observe through organised walks.

About
David and Shona Egan will welcome you to Bushmere Estate.
The vineyard is 17 hectares in the Central Valley Region of Gisborne District, growing mainly Chardonnay grapes, along with smaller plantings of Gewurztraminer, Viognier, Pinot Gris, Montepulciano and Sangrovese.
The name Bushmere Estate was chosen as the area was referred to as 'Bushmere' on old maps of the district. The Bushmere logo represents the three elements vital to the growing of grapes – earth, water and sun.
